Extension End Of The Year Conclusion

This was my third year in the extension class. This year we had a new extension teacher, Miss Langitupu. I enjoyed having her as a teacher because I had never been in her class and I am happy to say I had a really great time.

We had some great trips like,
The Maritime Museum,
Tiritiri Matangi Island
and also the GEG NZ Summit.

But my favorite trip was the Tiritiri Matangi trip where we caught a ferry to the Island and learnt about heaps of different birds. This year was a great year in extension and I hope to maybe have another one next year. To finish this year off we're having a shared lunch and also a secret santa

It's been a great year and I hope to have many more of these in the future.

Immersion Assembly Term 3

This terms subject is Trade And Enterpri$e. Yesterday we had our immersion assembly which is where the teachers tell all the teams about what they are learning about this term. Trade and Enterpri$e is all really about money.

Team 1 are doing jobs around the school to earn money to spend at the markets. Team 2 are learning about how to make Ice Cream and all the ingredients to Ice Cream. Team 3 are doing Careers and Jobs so like what they want to be when they grow up.

And Team 4 are learning about all the different emotions and there show was kinda like that movie inside out. Team 5 are learning to be financially responsible. Personally my favourite one was Team 4's.

Team 1: Markets
Team 2: I Scream For Ice Cream
Team 3: Careers and Jobs
Team 4: Different Emotion
Team 5: Financially Responsible

         The FA Cup Final

Arsenal F.C. have won the FA Cup for the second year in a row. The FA Cup is a knockout competition with the best Football clubs in England and Wales such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur. The Final was on Saturday the 30th of May at Wembley Stadium in London. It was a difficult game for Aston Villa with a huge loss 4-0 which has made Arsenal fans proud.

The Lineups included

for Arsenal F.C.—Szczesny, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Cazorla, Ramsey, Ozil, Alexis, Walcott.
and for Aston Villa F.C.—Given, Hutton, Vlaar, Okore, Richardson, Westwood, Delph, Cleverley, Grealish, N'Zogbia, Benteke.
Image result for the fa cup final 2015Arsenal made a big decision to move there Right Mid Walcott to Striker in front of starting Striker Olivier Giroud. Arsene Wenger (Coach) made a good decision putting Walcott at Striker with Walcott scoring a volley (When the ball bounces and you kick it we in the air)in the 40th minute. The second goal was from Chilean Midfielder Alexis Sanchez scoring a stunner from 25 yards putting Arsenal ahead 2-0.

The next goal came from a header by the German 6 foot Centre Back Per Mertesacker in the 62nd minute Arsenal with a comfortable lead 3-0 ahead. Near the 75th minute Arsene Wenger subs on Olivier Giroud for Theo Walcott and also subs on Jack Wilshere for Mesut Ozil. Its the 89th minute Arsenal have surely won 3 more minutes are added on but to make it even worst for Aston Villa, with half a minute to go Olivier Giroud scores GOAL!!

Arsenal fans happy with a 4-0 win. With 12th Capture of the Cup Arsenal hold the record for the most wins of the cup pushing in front of Manchester United with 11 wins not only will Arsene Wenger feel happy about winning but also winning it more than other club not only in putting Walcott as leader of his attack as he scored the first goal. Another record was also achieved as Sanchez as the second Chilean to score a goal in the FA Cup.

Reflection On Hokulea

Last Wednesday the Hokule’a(Double Hulled Waka) came to Pt England reserve which is very close to our school. The reason they came was to see all of the Manaiakalani Cluster. The Manaiakalani Cluster is all of the schools in GI (Glen Innes). We are called Manaiakalani because its a part from the famous Maori story about Maui. In the story Maui was said to have the hook of heaven and he captured the world and thats what the Manaiakalani Cluster aims for.     When the Hokulea arrived the schools sang a song that Patrick Gemmell made so we could sing to the crew the song was called E Oho which was a welcoming song. I sang as loud as I could because this was a very special moment for our Cluster.

The Hokulea rarely does this for anybody so it was a huge privilege that they did it for us. After we had welcomed them we listened to them speak about how awesome it was to be there and then we sang another song called ‘He Honore’ and then listened to 3 of our Prefects speak and then we all sang ‘Nga Waka’.

At the end we got to shake all of the crews hands it was so cool because they're making history and getting to shake their hand is really really cool. And next time I see them I hope its on tv. Good Luck Hokulea you're doing us proud.

This was really big for our cluster especially for the extension group because we got to do things that most of the other kids didn't get to do. Like we got to meet three schools from Hawaii and we also got to see them at the Maritime Museum and got to hop on their boat called the Hikianalia. It was Fantastic.

Polyfest 2015

Yesterday was the first time any class from Pt England went to the Polyfest. If you don't know what Polyfest is, it is a place where all Pasifika Collage kids perform at, once a year. There is a variety of kids that perform at Polyfest groups like Samoans, Niueans, Tonga, Maori and much much more.

My Highlight was watching one of the Maori perform. Because of how fierce and tough they looked and they were really loud. Im sure they would have made their school proud.

Thanks to all the teachers who helped we couldn't have done it without you. Thank you Shannon for buying us some delicious candy. Thank you I really enjoyed my day.
